Tranquil Evening

I started this piece many years ago, but put it aside out of frustration. I wasn’t sure how to define the rocks, and I didn’t know what I wanted to do with the foreground. The overall golden color seemed too strong and overbearing, yet something told me to keep it. As I began to carve away at the rocks, I also realized that blue/purple foam patterns would complement the orange/yellow atmosphere and beach. The result worked out better than I could have expected!

Description

Tranquil Evening – I started this piece many years ago, but put it aside out of frustration.

This seascape oil painting was painted on a 9×12 panel.

SOLD! – This piece sold at Amy Lauren’s A Gallery in Hanapepe, Hawaii.
